any how this week was pretty good i got to go on a trade off with elder peterson and i bought some new shoes. i dont know if i told you about Naketa. anyhow she was one of our best investigators but she kept calling and cancelling our appointments so we pretty much dropped her. well tuesday night we got a text on our phone that said hi this is Naketa can you come by tomorrow so we can have a lesson? i was shocked so i called her set up at time for thursday. me and elder peterson went up there and the lesson was awesome i extended her a baptism date and everything it was so cool she is a really good investigator!! we also have Vivine her sister is a member and she should be to she is way ready and knows everything BUT she lives with a guy ...and all that so that sucks cuz we cant baptize her unless one moves out or they get married so she is stuck!!! me and elder peterson made that pumpkin pie we used vanilla wafers for our crust we just smashed them up and wa la it was so good! but it was a fun trade off!!! i have some more stuff to send for christmas but i ran out of money so i couldnt send it but hopefully i can do that soon. but the rest of the week went pretty good nothing really exciting happened i have been so tired when its time to go home. man im draggin my butt and then the mornings come way to fast and then its the same all over again! Thursday i got a call from our branch president he wanted me to tell wilson that he wanted him to give a talk on sunday. so i told him. then i said to randle and peterson man im glad im not new in the area they always make you give a talk well sunday president barrett came up to me and said guess what? i need you to bear your testimony on service for me. ugh! talk about being put on the spot lol but it went good dont remember what i said but it sounded good at the time! then i was tellin peterson about that and he said ya it sucks to be a new missionary in the area but when you've been there a while they dont even give you a heads up they just call you up lol it was funny!!! this friday is our christmas party every zone has to do a skit we are doing the nativity scene but we are gonna spice it up with sayings from different movies to make it like a comedy it should be fun!! but any how thats about it!!! PS HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANNY now you really are one so you cant get mad anymore when i call you that hahaha well love ya

Just like that another week is gone...

hey! our christmas party is on the 24th. i think we can open the packages there or we can bring them home and open them at home. i think its up to us! ..and calling home ive heard two ways. i can call you and you call back or i can buy a 1000 dollars of credit and that will give me a 1000 minutes of international calling time and i just call you so either way i dont know which is one cheaper! i will prolly call and you call back. 

 i think i can call Lauren or if you want she can come to your house. either way its up to you guys there!

i did buy the guitar. its sweet! 

its all black and it has palm trees around the circle thingy lol i still have to get it tuned. i have to get the electric tuner from randle so i can do that. 

this week was good. wednesday i went on a trade off after district meeting with El Randle! all i can say is when we finally get to serve together we are gonna be awesome lol we just teach so good together and the lessons just flow. we have a blast while teaching and it just makes everything so fun and i cant wait until we serve together...

well i hope we do i mean i got my fingers crossed.

we had a birthday party for me and elder peterson wednesday night. we made cake and had ice cream and we ate that and it was fun! then el peterson had to leave so me and randle played pin the tail on the donkey and then took pics of stuff and went and got pics of his neighbors christmas lights! then we stayed up just talking it was fun! the next day first thing when we were riding to the church randle was riding with no hands and then his bike went one way and he went the other haha it was like slow motion. he like looked at me then BAM!!! he hit so hard. my gosh it was so funny! then we went and bought the guitar and then we were walking to the mall to wait on wilson and roberts to get there so we could trade back. well freakin randle slips on some oil on the road. my guitar hits the ground.
 
 gee crazy kid! i knew we should of said a prayer before we left the house hahaha we were joking about that the whole day that thats what caused all the accidents was buying the guitar.
it was fun! then we had to trade back and when we got back i was like bummed cuz they have really good investigators and we dont and when you have good investigators it just makes everything so much better and i was just doggy feeling. 

but when we got to Vivine's and brians house we taught them and then i just went for it and extended them a baptism date and they both accepted it. it was cool and when we left we found new investigators and everything just got way better! then on friday we went to bambury to see bro miller we talked with him 

then we went to friday night activity and only a couple people showed up but we played checkers and ping pong. i was the checkers champion lol then we went outside to leave and a guy from the kingston branch was all mad at the kids playing on the soccer field. so i had to be the bad guy and run them off. they were all mad at me! i think its better that they are playing soccer rather than out makin trouble. so the next night they were there again so i walked up and they had looks on there face like crap we gotta go! but i called one over and said just make sure you shut the lights out when your done and then they were all excited! lol but ya sunday we got drenched walking to deeside and when we got there sister grant made us dinner and right after that we had to go to sister robinsons for dinner. ugh!! two in a row i about died. i was so full it was crazy! but just like that another week is gone. crazy! transfers are on the 29th so comin up fast! well i gotta write president hendricks. ok later!

Non Stop Sweat...Roping Dummy...and Guitars

well yes i got my thanksgiving package! so thats good. sounds as if everything is going good down there besides the cold weather. its been pretty hot here. ugh non stop sweat and when you walk a couple miles your toasted. lol but today we went to portmore to play basketball. it was fun but really hot. we (spanish town zone) got our butts kicked by kingston zone we played 8 games to 11 it was so hot and man i about died. lol they have some kids that have played a little college ball so its not fair but we came back and won a couple at the end it was fun though! we won 3 of the 8 games!

i cant believe that its almost christmas its so crazy to think about it. sheesh. lets see this week was ok nothing really special happened. we are just trying to find some new people so that we can have more investigators. just when you think you have a good one it all goes south ugh. Naketa was doing so good and now we havent seen her for about 2 weeks. she keeps calling and cancelling darn it. but we met a lady named Raquel she is cool she lives just down the road from us she is very interested and her 10 year old son is to. he came to the christmas devotional with us. he is a cool kid and so hopefully things keep going good! i cant really remember what else happened hmmmm did i ever tell you i made a roping dummy????

well i did. i used the bottom of a chair and a bike helment and a piece of pvc pipe haha it works pretty good! i also taught bro. blake (tara's husband) how to rope he caught on super fast. he was running around at the friday night activity roping everyone it was funny! i might have to leave one of those ropes here when i leave..

i dont want to leave Linstead though. it is so cool and the members are so cool. as for the christmas program i have no idea what we are gonna do for our skit. i dont know if we will be at the party cuz we are having our mission one the same day. so i dont know about it. the ohter day a guy yelled at me for not buying an orange from him he was following me yelling at me on the street so i turned and said listen i dont have any money or i would buy one to make you happy but i dont have any so beat it. hahaha i hate when they chat at you elder wilson is good at just walking away not me i always chat back hahaha its fun! oh ya i spent some money off my card. i was running low on my mission card so i took some out. elder randle and peterson bought guitars and they are trying to talk me into it to buying one. its like 17000 jamaican $.  i dont know how much that is in american...elder randle said he would be my bank and loan me half. lol  im still kickin it around. i gotta make up my mind by wednesday though im going on a trade off with elder randle in spanish town so we are gonna go and check them out. we talk on the phone almost every night and they are always playing them. it sounds fun. but who knows what i'll do. lol but ya everything is going good here just tryin to get people baptized so i can go swimming again. hey gretchen took some pictures at the branding last spring see if you can get some of the pictures from her and send some my way thanks. ummmm i dunno. i can't think of anything i need right now i always remember something right when i walk out the door though. lol time is up I LOVE YOU!!!!!

"Where in the World are we gonna get the Chicken?!"

hello everyone!!! another pday is here so crazy i cant believe it this week flew by thats for sure. so i got everything in my package except for the 2 ties lauren sent me i cant believe they stole ties. but i think i got everything else! i've been having fun with my ropes. i walked around with one the other day and everyone was calling me Texas lol it was funny. on tuesday night i was talkin to el peterson and randle on the phone we do a conference call so we can all talk on the line at once its pretty cool. so i was like i got 2 ropes so im gonna bring them to district meeting and we can play rope the chicken. el peterson knew what i was talking about because i explained the game to him earlier but el randle was like that sounds fun but where in the world are we gonna get the chicken.  lol i laughed so hard it was funny so i explained it to him. 

then we went to kfc for lunch for our thanksgiving dinner. it was fun i had to buy another memory card did you put one in that package? i didnt get it if you did... then we came back to linstead our dinner appointment got cancelled so we didnt have a dinner for thanksgiving darn it so i made some mashed potatoes and that was all i ate for dinner no turkey for me darn it. but they dont celebrate thanksgiving. but there is christmas lights starting to go up in the stores so thats cool i cant believe that november is already over crazy crazy!! elder wilson likes to chomp his food even though i tell him to stop. its crazy but im being patient with him and trying to help him out. when we teach its like he asks questions trying to trick the people. lol so then i have to try and explain it to them. its helping me become a better teacher. 

i drove a push cart down a hill you know the one like on cool runnings ya one of them i had about 3 or 4 kids plus elder wilson on it going down a hill it was pretty crazy! hmmmm what else oh yes the ropes were a hit and the big hunks were to die for my goodness they were good! the other night i woke up and i was cold i had to get the blanket that lauren got for me and sleep with it it was freezing then having to get in a freezing cold shower holy smokes froze to death!! but ya today im gonna start getting christmas packages ready to send home i dont know what im gonna send lol but i bought a jump drive to put some videos on and pictures to send home well thats about it i guess.  i know time is flyin but how long have i been out 4 or 5 months? lol

hey hey sheesh finally im on here!!! we went to spanish town for p day we went golfing!! it was fun! yes i finally got my package today i havent opened but ya i got one box and 2 envelope things one from you and one from lauren then a letter from bai. and what else how do you make those oreo things with the cream on top you know what im talking about? you freeze them and everything? please tell me how im craving some lol! ummm this week has been slow but fast slow because we havent really taught anyone and havent baptized anyone yet darn it. we have naketa she is our closest to baptism hopefully in the next 2 weeks we can dunk her lol she is really cool she is a nurse and works hectic hours thats the only bad thing i have to send this then come back i have to get pres hendricks email sent before 6

anyhow i drank a bottle of cranberry juice and now my back hasnt bothered me for the last 2 nights so maybe i did have an infection or something i dunno! i was wanting mr balls address and frederick funkes address also!! oh and elder wilson is a spitting image of steve day his walk and everything lol oh my thats good Brehts surgery went good i was asking Tara about it to see if she had heard anything or not... and Jett is already to go just close him in the box and get that lil stinker sent here hahaha  well ya i cant think of anything else but i love you all

"Elder Cougar" stays in Linstead

Hello i cant believe its p day again!!! first things first elder lee is getting transfered to Kingston and elder wilson is coming here. i hear that he was elder petersons MTC companion and he said that he is a nice kid so i guess i'll find out on wednesday! another thing the office moved so dont use the 36 1/2 red hills road address anymore they said just send everything to the po box one. i said well my mom sent a package to the office adress and they said that they can still get it but recommend that you send it to the p.o box ok!! ok christmas list i want some trail mix like the big bags you buy at costco. also a headlamp the one like the one i have its an energizer 2 l.e.d light you can get them at walmart i'll send you a picture of mine that way you know which one i want. ummm some more almond joys and hot tamales and the sour watermelons thats all i got so far just anything you think i guess!! 

This week was a good week it was insane thats for sure we taught 36 lessons we worked our tails off we taught 13 lessons on tuesday wow it was crazy we had to ride up mount evrest to do it but it was worth it. we met a lady that had never met missionaries before she is way interested. we taught her about the restoration and the book of mormon we left her a chapter to read! we called her on saturday night to see if she had read and prayed about the message we shared with her and she said yes and she thinks that she recieved her answer!! so thats awesome! Me and elder lee were just gettin used to each other and finally rolling with the punches and then bam he is leaving that fast 6 weeks has gone i cant believe it!! i was hoping he would stay here for christmas i havent sent my memory card yet im gonna print some pictures off today so that i can have them with me i have some cool videos on it to that i would like to keep and watch but oh well just make sure you dont delete any of them or anything like that. but its been a pretty good week nothing really exciting happened.

we rode by a school and a bunch of little kids ran up to me yelling white man white man asking me a bunch of questions like my name and where i was from it was cool. i got a picture with all of them and some drunk guy jumped in the picture! oh they said that they got my package finally so i might be able to get it on wednesday well thats what im hoping for usually when they do transfers we go to spanish town and meet but since el wilson is coming from high gate they will just drop him off on the way by and get el lee so i dont know how im gonna get it.

oh yes district meeting was awesome this last week we ordered pizza from pizza hut then el peterson aka Maverick made cookies elder randle aka iceman made cookies el roberts aka slider made a cake el powell aka goose brought nothing el lee aka sundown brought nothing and me Cougar made brownies and we had ourselves a feast lol the cake was good and my brownies were to die for. it was fun and we got so fun pictures i was so sick afterwards from eating so much it was so good though.

then at friday night activity we played inside games so they had ping pong and dominos and a couple other games i won my first game of dominos i still dont kow how to play but i won haha it was fun! saturday we didnt really do anything i was so tired all day and my back was hurting again i think its just gettin weak from not using it everyday like when i was home digging a hole everyday so i need to find some workouts to strengthin it back up! but other than that the week was good!! i love you all

so we didnt go to the cave today because there is too much water going in it or something who knows i think the guy just didn't want to take us through today. he said it will take like 3 hours to go all the way through. but who knows. we cant go next monday either cuz that is transfers. but ya everything is good. lets see my week went pretty good transfers are on the 15th. so next monday p day will probably be on tuesday unless neither of us get transfered i'll try to let tara or jodie know so they can email you for me and let you know what is gonna happen. oh use the p.o box address for everything. i don't think they will leave the package at presidents house unless he is there so thats probably why it hasnt been delivered yet. what happens if they cant deliver it they better not chuck it ill be mad. hmmmmm i dont really know what to say ummm oh i thought you could send some german chocolate frosting haha they dont have it here and i want to make a cake lol how do you make scones? this week went pretty good i dont remember what day it was i think tuesday we didnt have anything to do and we were just riding around waisting time. elder lee was leading us around and we ended up back at the house at 5 we have dinner at 7. and i was thinking to my self im not staying in this house 2 hours ill go crazy so he was heading back to his bed and i said get in here we have to make a plan he said for what i said for what we are going to do cause i cant stand being in this house. so i said put your shoes on. we arent stayin in this house. so we went out and he was all excited later on and he said man you need to get mad more often. we went to dinner and he kept talking about it. the next day went better and he helped plan    hmmm friday night we had a activity we got to watch a movie. we watched how to train your dragon. it was so cool just to sit down and watch a movie haha next friday is game night so that will be fun! sunday we had 5 investigators at church we are kickin on gettin them to church its just gettin them to commit to baptism thats the hard part. sunday was fast sunday. there are some crazy people here to you know like sister cheney lol ya not that bad but just goes on and on. and then some white boy got up lol ya me. im 3 for 3 on fast sundays so thats good ummm hmmm i dont know what else. i need to send you my memory card it takes way to much time to email the pics home if i have some time ill try to email a couple. but ya everything is pretty good here weather is good. just want to get a baptism. we dont have anyone like really serious yet but were trying. so you got some of my email thats good. when we were emailing the power went out so the guy told us to just come back and he would give us our time again. so here i am back online again!! i cant really remember what i told you in my first email lol and we went and did our laundry and went shopping then we just came back to the email place so im online again i have an hour left online so if your on im on to!! but i love you all just gettin to talk to you is awesome and for christmas i think i just call you then hang up and you call me back that way it doesnt cost me anything. but ya linstead is in the mountains pretty safe i guess it can still get bad though but we havent had any bad weather. so thats good. my halloween was lame most people here didnt even know it was halloween but i ate some sweddish fish so that was good!! other than that i didnt do anything i thought about wearing my green hat and cowboy boots to church that would of been funny!!! but ya sucks dad didnt get any thing darn it that prolly wraps up the deer hunting for them huh? well im gonna email  the girls. love ya stetson

NATURAL BRIDGE & TGI FRIDAYS

Hey hey! i havent got my package yet darn it i was hoping to get it at zone conference last wednesday but it was a no go!! any how the week was pretty good nothing to exciting happened but things are starting to go better so thats good! ive just kinda thought well stetson its only going to be as good as you make it so just relax and go with the flow. and the last couple days have went better. i cant belive that october is already over and  there is only 2 or 3 weeks left in this transfer that is crazy. this morning we went to the Natural Bridge thats why im emailing late its way cool and i got some cool pictures! next week we are going to some caves so next weeks email will be later to!!! just a heads up! anyways me and el randle and el peterson all were together jumping across rocks and el lee and el powell were off together it started raining a little and so they wanted to leave so we left. darn it. i wanted to stay there longer its not every day we get to do stuff like that! but anyways. we havent been teaching anyone that is really serious about any thing. i got into bible bash with a lady the other day that said god and jesus and the holy ghost were all one person so i whipped out the bible and read some scriptures to her about when jesus was praying to heavenly father and i asked who was he praying to himself??? she said his spirit lol. she was crazy thats for sure!! but ya it was a crazy week nothin real exciting! there is a hurricane coming this way they say and its coming towards this part of the island and will be here thursday.

TGI FRIDAYS IN KINGSTON, JAMAICA

PS sounds like a crazy hunting trip haha thats cool they finally got deer though! 1 thing i left out in my other message was that me and elder peterson went on a trade off wednesday after zone conference it was fun we came to linstead and just had a blast for the rest of wednesday and half of thursday! zone conference was good it lasted forever!!! we went and ate at tgi fridays afterwards it was so good and i felt like i was back it the u.s didnt even seem like jamacia. lol it was fun a bunch of us went and we got to watch some college football and stuff it was way fun!!!well im almost out of time.

Maybe that’s all. Anyhow its Oct 9th … Wha Gwon? Ya Deh Ya? Mi Deh Ya! Mom stop crying you haven’t even began to read the letter yet! How is everything going back in the promised land? I heard a song by Bob Marley the other day about how Jamaica was the promised land. Well it’s no paradise here that’s for sure! Anyways it has been raining for the past 3 hours straight. The roads have water all over them…so we are pretty much contained for the night. We got drenched earlier today when we were out …a cloud came and poured on us like in 2 seconds we were soaked from head to foot. We came home for lunch then went back out this time I took my umbrella. We went to see some people but they weren’t home. So we headed to the ATM so Elder Lee could get money. The winds picked up and it started pouring rain again so we made a dash for the house. Anyways how is everything back home? How’s the weather? It’s probably about time to start blowing out sprinklers huh? So that means the ducks are gonna be comin in soon! Hmmmmm. How did deer hunting go? Any exciting stories or anything? What about "Teefgan"? What is she been doing? Basketball is getting ready to start up soon, huh? Is the team lookin’ good this year? State Champs or What? That would be cool. WOW Tegan is a Senior…that’s crazy. Mom, you’re getting old!

pouring rain and boiled green bananas

It's ugh... 5:51 pm here in Jamaica.
It is pouring rain outside so we are pretty much trapped in the house for the rest of the night! Bummer. I don’t know what to do for the next 41/2 hours before we have to go to bed.

We just finished dinner. Elder Lee made curry chicken and dumplings and boiled green bananas. They are pretty good. Now I’m stuffed and I don’t want to lay down so I decided I would write you and kill some time. I guess I will tell you about Jamaica. Well mostly Linstead because that’s all I really know about. Linstead is up in the mountains. You can get into some pretty good jungle here. But that is only when you go up towards Princess Field, Banbary and High Mountain. All those are in our area. This area is really big. I have only been to Princess Field, Banbary, Treadways, Bogwalk and Charlemont. We mostly stay in Linstead. There are a lot of good nice people here in Jamaica and then there are some that are fried that have smoked too much Ganja! They are mostly the ones that will yell at you and say that we are making Jamaica worse than it already is. It’s probably a good thing I can ‘t understand everything they say. I’m starting to pick up on the patios though. There are about 300 members in the surrounding areas. But only about 100 come out and are active. Alot of people on the church records have either moved or they don’t know where they are. It’s a pretty good area. Elder Peterson said Linstead was his favorite area he has been to. The members are nice. They are just good people. We have dinner appointments every night except for Friday and Saturday nights. That saves me lots of money. There are a lot of fun members…ones that like to mess with us and cause trouble. Sister Tara Richardson (Blake) is one of them…she is funny. She lives in Deeside. Let’s see. I loved my trainer Elder Peterson. He is so awesome. He and I got along perfect! Like you would think I had known him for a long time. He is cool. Totally gonna have to hang out with him afterwards. I was bummed when he got transferred. I wanted to stay with him the rest of his mission. He loved to have fun too but we worked hard while having fun and that was the best. It really made the time fly by. My first transfer flew by so if all the rest go like that WOW! I’m gonna be home before I know it! But I doubt they will all go that fast or that good! It’s only gonna be as good as I make it, I know. My new companion Elder Lee is pretty cool too. He is a Jamaican from Ocho Rios. I’m kindof stressed right now cause I hardly know the area and don’t know where to go and teach. So Breht, do you miss giving me hair cuts every 2 weeks? I sure wish I could get a good haircut. Elder Peterson didn’t do that bad of a job. And it was free too so I couldn’t complain. Well “Bertha” hope you’re doing good. Thanks for being such a good sister and for always putting up with me and all my frequent hair cuts. Thanks for being such a good example by getting hitched in the temple! Couldn’t ask for anything more. I pray for you all the time.

There is no way you shot that thing legally!!! you must of went out the night before it opened and spotlighted him then just waited for the sun to come up to take the pictures haha!! but he is a nice elk so either way poached or unpoached he is nice! :) i miss the hunting but just try not to think about it to much i know it wil be better when i get back anyways! i just gotta be strong and deal with it and keep doing my best!! Everything is going pretty good here i had a way awesome trainer and we had tons of fun together and it made the time fly by! thats the way to do it just have fun but work hard! my compainon now is a jamaican and has 4 months left on his mission. he is a really good guy.   Well thanks for the email and the picture talk to ya soon love ya Stetson

well its monday again hard to believe that another week has come and gone huh.. the day seem kinda slow but then when i look back the week went pretty fast! lets see first things first how many packages have you sent? ive got 2 but i think there is another one coming or no? did you put the memory card in one of these packages? anyways lets see i was thinkin of maybe having you send a pumpkin pie mix you know the thingy in the can so i can make pumpkin pie but im not sure about that im just always craving GOOD food. lets see this week was ok nothing special other than we have 3 people with baptism dates so we are working toward that. John, Samantha, and Jessica. on thursday we went to jessicas on the way there this crazy rosta man was yelling and cussin at me something about me not paying a taxi man or something he was talkin so fast i couldnt understand i just look at him like keep washing your mo-ped they have big mouths here REALLY big. ummm i havent been scared one time since ive been here and jamaica is a pretty scary place

but i just keep the faith
and know that i will be watched over and protected.
when we got to jessicas i didnt really know what to teach her she says she hasnt recieved an answer yet but i dont know how hard she is really trying. so i taught her about the holy ghost and prayer and just mainly everything she needs to know to recieve or how she is going to recieve her answer! and did you notice i said "I TAUGHT" ya el lee was off who knows where he gets like that like he just zones out and no tellin where he is so i would stop and wait for his input but he would say nothing. we are starting to joke around with each other and have some fun some days though. any ways we had branch conference on sunday pre hendricks came and his counselors so that was cool they asked me to say the closing prayer and i got way nervous haha but as i walked past pres hendricks he hit me with his hymm book on the back of the legs as if to say go get em and i couldnt help but smile and it just made me not be nervous so he must of been able to tell i was nervous or something. he is really cool and a nice guy!our mission pres is the best he is so cool and fun and is just always trying his best to show us that he really cares about us!! we went to spanish town wednesday for district meeting me and elder randle and elder peterson had fun together. we have zone conference this wednesday in kingston then elder peterson is coming up here on a trade off so thats gonna be cool. since he is the zone leader he can do trade offs whenever. hopefully my other packages are here!!  but other than that just trying to find new people to teach and thats part of missionary work. but things are going ok for now!!
