MUCHO TRABAJO Y NO DINARO

(much work and no money) 

Well this week has been really good. We have been workin really hard at trying to find new people to teach. We have been walking around and just talking with everyone. Last week i went through some former investigator records and found a lady that had been taught 3 years ago. her name is Patrice. she is a really nice lady. she said she was going to be baptized then but had surgery and that put a halt to it all. but she said that she is more than ready now so thats pretty cool. She had been taught by Trent Garner pretty crazy huh she was all he was such a nice kid always wanting to help me out. when i told her he just lived down the road from me she was all. what a small world lol so that was pretty cool.  We are also teaching a lady we met  last week sometime and she has been really interested she said that she had a friend tell her to stop meeting with us cuz we believe that the devil is Jesus Christ she said i told that lady that i am gonna find out if these things are true for myself so that was awesome. I have no clue where people get their rumors about the church its ridiculous! but she is a really nice lady she has 3 kids and we have been teaching them as well. One day after teaching her we were walking back to the truck and we hear hey Mormons. come back here. and then just a bunch of yelling ahhhh hey come here ahhh lol it was like what the crap is going on. well there was 2 guys in a bar they were pretty white but not really it was weird they defiantly were not Jamaicans thats for sure. so we go in the bar and we are talking to them. the one guy seemed to know alot about the church and about missionaries the other one was soo drunk he could barely sit in his chair he just kept sayin come here i wanna tell ya something. so he would pause then say come here i wanna tell you something.... on and on lol well i sat by the guy who wasn't so wasted and then the other guy pointed at me and said come here i wanna tell you something. i was all i can hear ya just fine from here so finally i got up went over to him and he was all i would like to pray for you would that be ok? we said sure. i was just thinking ok this is going to be nuts. but honestly it was a pretty good prayer. then when he finished the other guy was like dang that was a good one straight from the heart. i felt that lol. then he whispered im an undercover cop but shhhh dont tell anyone. so i dont know if thats true or not but thats what he said.. lol so that was pretty crazy! We had to move on of our baptism dates back another week she had a concern about Joseph Smith but she resolved her concern herself so that was cool and she is now gonna be baptized This coming Sunday so thats awesome. we had a really good day at church though. We had 2 kids just randomly show up and they had tons of questions from the Gospel Principles class it was about the Plan of Salvation really nice guys though. Blossum showed up so that was awesome and Adonna was there as well. also on saturday morning we went and helped the Elder Quorum chop some bush it was pretty fun used machetes and chopped it down. i got a big ol blister on my hand dang it. Skinny was right when he said you'll come back and your hands will be all soft. lol i feel like an office worker lol.   But this week was good for sure everything is going good Elder Poulsen is still here Paper work still not done so who knows how long he will be here. i always joke and say your just gonna be here another Transfer lol but anyhow thats about all that i can remember from the week as of right now!!! oh yes i got my Halloween package on friday that was fast huh! i had a bunch of halloween pictures for today but i went and left my camera at home dang it! but any how I love you all!!! Love Stetson 

"it was a very trying week but i'm lookin on the bright side"

Well lets see here....... This week was pretty good but it had ups and downs for sure. one of the downs was sitting at church with no investigators there. i was dang why isnt anyone here. They tell us they are gonna come and then they just dont show up. They let little things get in their way. We had a lot of appointments fall through throughout the week so it was a very trying week but i'm lookin on the bright side. i know there must be something i need to learn from this week. But for the "ups" we still have a date for this coming weekend so everything is set for that. so thats always exciting. . We had to move one of our baptism dates back a bit she is just going through a tough time so we are going to let her get on her feet before we baptize her. Well im not sure if i have told you about K?...ring a bell??? anyhow we met her about 4 weeks ago or so. well she was the only one out of like 4 other people that seemed somewhat interested so she gave us her phone number and we tried to see her a couple times but she was just really busy with school. Well Elder Poulsen had been like just forget about her lol but something told me no dont give up. so last sunday we got to see her and we just talked a little and then we left. well Yesterday we went back and we had no clue really what to do or what to teach her so we just started by getting to know her better and then it was like a totally different person. it was awesome. she had read the pamphlet and understood it perfectly she is defiantly coming around. as we walked away Elder Poulsen was like i take back everything bad i have ever said about her lol it was pretty cool!! we had a a pretty crazy night saturday night at about 4:30 am i woke up and it was really quiet in the house i was like what the crap its never this quiet. well it took me about 15 or so mins to put it all together. well the power was out duh lol no fans or light from outside coming in. THEN i hear gunshots. ok thats cool. then a little later 6 more all from different areas it was insane. Elder Poulsen and i were just like hmmmm some one is just hammering really loud thats all lol the power stayed off for the rest of the morning but it sure was a crazy night for sure i have no clue where the shots came from but they were off in the distance. so that was the craziness for the week thats for sure! but anyhow im still with Elder Poulsen his paper work hasn't gone through as yet so who knows how much longer i will be with him lol but everything is going good!! any ways that was my week in a nutshell! i love you all love Stetson

Well here it is another week already can ya believe it? shoot i can't hardly. i was a couple days behind this week so it made it feel as if it flew by. pretty crazy. but this week was good for sure!!! Yes. this Wednesday is Transfer day. but i wont be getting a new companion as of yet. Elder Poulsen is going to Nassau Bahamas but his paper work isnt quite finished so they cant send him out there as of yet. so i will have him for another week or so. then once that goes through. elder Brockbank who is in Nassau right now will come here with me. so thats who my new companion is going to be. i dont know a thing about him he was in nassau when i was in cayman. so we would see each other on skype and all but thats about all i know of him lol. But anyhow so thats transfers. now for the week. the week was pretty good. we kinda had a slump week though. seemed like nothing would go right. we had a zone conference this week which was awesome on thursday it was really good. we still have 2 people with dates for the last sunday in october whatever that day is. it just slipped my mind. and they are doing great. its a bummer cuz we can only see them once or twice a week because of their work schedule and stuff. and then we just have a few other people that we are teaching that really arent doing anything. so its been kinda rough we definately need to find some new people to teach thats for sure. but everything is going good other wise! im sad to see Elder Poulsen leave though he has been a good companion thats for sure. last night we got home and we planned and all that and then he jumped in the shower. well it seemed as if he was in there for like 2 minutes so i said dang that was quick. he said ya just wanted to leave you with some time. you know just trying to be Christlike.  i said you know i knew you would learn something from me haha. i said i have been tellin ya this whole time that you are bound to learn something from me hahaha it was pretty funny! friday night i believe it was. i woke up at like 2:30 having to go to the bathroom real bad so i went in the bathroom and there was a roach in there. so i was holding it in waiting for this huge roach to leave or move out of the way. well i took care of business then i tried to kill it. lol my aim must be off at that time in the morning cuz i couldnt hit it to save my life. it was flying. YES THEY CAN FLY. lol and i was trying to be quiet so i didnt wake Poulsen up. lol it was hilarious i never got him though came close several times. lol then i couldnt go back to sleep. i kept thinking it was gonna fly in and land on my bed. then it started pouring rain and it was like a drum on the tin roof and then it ended up raining all saturday. i got soaked from head to foot while Poulsen was nice and dry under his rain jacket lol i said come on take it off companionship bonding time man lo.l but he wouldnt. lol anyhow everything is going great so no complaints! well have a wonderful week i love you all!!!! PS tell rob i never got his hunting stories..... or was there none dont get much huntin done sleepin in the truck lol well my time is up now darn it but tell him to tell chad what i said!!! lol anyhow i have to go i love you!!! bye

"Just a normal missionary week"

Well the week...........i dont really know what happenend this week lol. Just a normal missionary week i guess! we had some pretty cool experiences getting a baptism date. we pretty much left it to her. we said you pray about it and see how you feel. well we went there on saturday. we can only see her on saturday and sunday nights. but we asked her about it and she said October 30 was the day she wanted to be baptized so that was awesome!!! We have another one with that same date. so as of right now we will have 2 baptisms by the end of the month!  We have been trying to find new people. some times its pretty stressful. i ask my self several times daily is there anyone who wants  to find the truth??? its kinda hectic but we keep pushing along and we have found a couple this week that seem to be pretty interested. so we will see. This sunday was fast sunday there was tons of great testimonies givin. i sat there the longest time debating on whether or not to get up. then i remembered how  i felt the last fast sunday when i didnt get up so i went up at 15 past 1 and i was the very last one up and im so glad that i got up! i must of got dads cryin genes cuz i was about to that point. but i atleast held mine in! lol shoot this is short but i dont remember anything else.... thats horrible. anyways The weather here has just been really rainy and then hot, rainy then hot its either one or the other. we got soaked the other day. we walked from one appointment to the next and it came down withing a couple minutes. i was soaked clear through. thats the worst! well sorry this aint much. but everything is going good!!! Transfers are next week wednesday so im gonna be gettin someone new i think anyhow have a good week!!!

by the way i made 2 carmel apples the other day and have made a couple of the chilli cheese wraps. they hit the spot thats for sure. that chilli was so good. cant get anything like that out here.

The week......

Well lets see what i remember from the week.. Well on Tuesday i got my birthday package that was awesome they took the apples though lol so i have to buy some apples to have my caramel and candied apples but thats no biggy. then lets see here hmmmm we are teaching a really cool family Christine and her 2 kids Abby 9 years old and Jevoni 13 years old we also teach christines 2 sisters umm lets call them Pet and Kody thats not their real names but thats what everyone calls them anyhow they are awesome i love going over there. they absolutely love the message and everything we teach. they all have Baptism dates for the 23 of October! Then this weekend was awesome because it was conference and you do everything you can to get the investigators to come to that cuz you can always put your money on the Prophet :) well its true. right after the morning session Blossum turned to us and said we need to talk about my baptism im ready. i was like YES haha. Sandra also came and she loved it we were planning to have her baptism next weekend but we haven't got to see her much so we are gonna have to push it back. ummm hmmm lets see what else happened oh i went on a trade off down to downtown kingston with elder stubbs on wednesday  it was crazy they live in a 6 man house lol its pretty busy in the mornings trying to get ready but it was fun! then i dont really remember anything else cripes thats bad!! but i know we have 6 people with baptism dates and today was super hot playing basketball in Portmore but it was way fun got a nice sun burn and a blister on my toe but everything is going good here in Jamaica!!!!

Well another week is gone! Crazy This week was a really good week thats for sure! We had 2 Baptisms Woot woot so that was awesome!!! Ann-marie and sister watson got baptized saturday night. Boulevard elders also had one so 3 people were baptized that night. i got to do their baptism interview for them. its a cool thing to do and for that kid only bein 13 he is as sharp as uncle robs knife i cut my finger on that night in ridleys parking lot! and then on sunday we went to Boulevards sacrament meeting which is at 9 in the same building we go to. we had to go there to confirm ann-marie and sister watson i got to confirm sister watson also so my first confirmation it was way cool! i was nervous but once i started it went good!! Then last night we went to the Flakes for our normal Sunday night stop and as we are leaving i got floured by Poulsen. Its something Jamaicans do on peoples birthdays. 

 i thought i was gonna make it 2 years without gettin floured but i guess not lol. i really dont know what made this week so good maybe it was just the weekend part but it seemed like there was more but i cant remember anything! When we were at Boulevard branch sister dill walks up the stairs and she has a cake looking thing in her hand well she hands it to me and says happy birthday so when we went home in between churches i opened it and looked and it was a legit cake with sprinkles and M&Ms on it. she spoiled me thats for sure. Well then i woke up this morning and i felt like i had been hit by a truck and i thought why in the world am i so sore?? then i remembered old age is kickin in lol so i got up and poulsen was in the kitchen doing something so i walk in and he has a bunch of candles on the cake and says just thought you would like to blow some candles out for your birthday so i blew them out and he videoed it and he was all what the crap... Then says in to the camera, Lauren the candles didnt work lol Lauren sent him some trick candles to try and get me once again this year but for some reason the candles didnt relight. so he was like thats no fun. so we made one up. he changes his alarm clock to 5:52 and then i jumped in bed. i was all sprawled out on my bed and he comes in with the cake and was all hey Get up!  i was all suprised that i had a cake and then i blew out the candles and they kept relighting. so it was a funny morning this morning. but anyways this week has been good!!!

"everything is going good for us right now"

Well what a week!!! Lets see what i can rememeber from the week.... Well we will start with people with Baptism dates... we have Sis. Watson and her daughter Ann-marie who will be getting baptized this coming saturday but there is a catch... Saturday they moved out of our area. they moved into the Boulevards elders area so now she is going to be baptized into that branch which is kinda a bummer cuz we have been teaching her for well ever since i have been in Kingston and now right before they get baptized they move. but oh well at least they are getting baptized. We then have Sandra Parks she is a members wife and last night she accepted to be baptized on October 9th so thats cool she has been doing awesome she has been reading the Book of Mormon like crazy she'll call us and just say whats it mean here and we will explain it and she just loves it so she is doing awesome! Blossum is also doing good she just didnt come to church on sunday which was a bummer and Junior didnt come either he is awesome but i have no clue why he wasnt at church. but everything is going good for us right now... Well now some crazy stories this week we were heading to Yallahs to do a baptism interview and we had Elder Snelson and Weldon in the truck with us Poulsen was driving. well we are pulling up to a stop light and i see a guy running and a girl not to far behind running also. well i just thought they must be trying to catch the bus (they had school uniforms on) well NO thats not what was happening Poulsen starts to like turn around in the middle of the road so i was all what you doing he said that guy stole that girls bag. well there was already like 3 other cars turning around to go help so  we just stayed in line. well they caught up to the kid. well from what we could see anyways but right when he told me that i was ready to bail out and go chase the kid down but it was to late... then later in the week friday i think we go to see an investigator named Karen well she lives in a yard with about 4 other houses and they are all family well we knock on her door and we see Alley and some other guys up at the other house well all the sudden things start to get western all kinds of yelling and crazyness well alley walks out the gate pissed and he is still yelling then this big guy that i had never seen before comes by the gate well we are just sittin there right in the middle of it and then BOOM a rock flies into the gate from alley throwing it well the big guy runs over grabs a cinder block and slams it on the ground and then grabs all the pieces well he is going to get alley but then a little squirmy guy that reminds me of skinny is holding this guy back or trying to well he is doing his best just as skinny would with dad or something well everything calms down except for the yelling lol Mark comes out and was all man you guys are right in the middle of the war zone lol so that was crazy. anyways i cant really remember anything else thats horrible. but everything is going good here. crazy that september is almost over with. seems hard to believe but any ways i love you all!!! Stetson 

PS tell skinny to be scoutin out a nice 5 point for me this year so that next year he will be a big one and we can go kill it! tell him i miss him and i cant wait for next year huntin season its gonna come fast

Well this week was awesome!!!! We had some really good days this week!! I cant remember all of them but i can remember about 2 or 3 days ago lol!! Saturday was a crazy day we had some pretty crazy stuff happen! first thing crazy was we were in an area called casava peace well we went to see an investigator who wasn't there so we headed back to our truck we were about 40 yards from our truck when a little truck pulls up and 3 or 4 guys jump out and run up this drive way to this house well when we can see whats going on we see a lady on the ground and she is screaming and a guy is pretty much beating her up so i was thinking what are we gonna do??? people were running from everywhere to see what was going on well we see a cop truck come pulling around the corner about a hundred yards away so i wait till he gets closer and i pull out. my thought was to get him to slow down so that they would see all that and stop. well they drive by the house i was like no way... all the sudden the truck slams on its brakes 4 cops bust out guns drawn running up to save this poor lady!!! So thats crazy story number 1!!!
Now number 2..... after that we went and saw Shamala she is 13 we get to her house and her mom was just leaving so we all get chairs and sit outside and we are teaching her everything is going good we have her friend in on the lesson to well towards the end Shamala starts acting funny like she was getting sick or something she kept putting her head down and we would ask her something and she would struggle to answer well all the sudden she jumps up immediately in tears just balling well we can hear her in the house like heaving trying to breath so her friend goes in and then comes out so we get up and run in the house trying to figure out what to do well she is on the floor suckin for air so we call her mom to see if she has athesma or what but she said no. well she gets up and sits on the bed and then after a minute she is fine again.... it was so scary. i had no clue what to do. but she is fine!!! Anyways things calmed down after that... for a while anyways well later on that day we were at a less actives ladies house dropping some Book of Mormons off at her house we were supposed to read with them but we had to get up to red hills and we were already late well on our way out of the lane we pass a couple guys and we are a good 10 or so yards past and i hear no they arent Jehovah's Witnesses so i thought ahh just ignore them. well then i thought no tell them What church you are from. so i turn and im still walking away. i point to one of them and say he is right we arent J.W's. well he asks then where are you from?? so i tell him and he walks toward us we start talking to him and he is all im really interested to learn more. so we run to our truck and get a pamphlet to leave with him and all. and when we get back he says ok so what makes your church so different from everyone elses?? so Poulsen tells him all kinds of things then i thought Prophets so i said Junior if Moses was on the earth would you listen to what he had to say???? he laughed and said well ya. so i say well thats our message.... and explained it. it was one of the coolest experiences ever when we walked away i looked at elder poulsen and said it was funny!!! and all that happened on saturday!!!

well on sunday we had 5 people at church wo wo that made me happy we havent had to many there the last couple weeks and its been a bummer but this week was awesome!!! but everything is going good we got BRAND NEW FORD RANGERS so thats what we are driving now. so thats pretty cool elder poulsen me and Baird got to drive them off the show room floor that was pretty cool. that was a fun day we were all in seperate trucks heading to the office .well i dont know the way coming from that way so i was in the middle of the pack. well poulsen ends up in front and has 2 guys jump in the back of his truck at a red light. then baird has a guy on a bike holding on getting a tow. and then he ends up holding on to the one im driving. well eventually we get back in our normal line up then baird who was in front gets pulled over at a stop light for not wearing his seat belt so now im in front lost and poulsen gets stopped at a red light but miraculously i made it back to the office. lol it was so funny!!! any ways this is way long so im gonna wrap it up just know everything is going good here!!!! well if you think this looks bad you should see the other guy he is about twice as bad.....NO one steals my scripture case and tries to run off with it.... the story.... well we were walking to a lesson and a guy asked whats in the box??? money? i said no scriptures! well.. we get to our appointment and there he comes walking up and my box is on the ground well im talking then next thing i know he grabs it and takes off with it so i chase him down jump on his back and tackle him..

Man if coach woulda put me in 4th quarter...

 anyways he swung and clocked me in the mouth and tried to run off again so i grabbed his shirt pulled him in and decked him in the nose and he staggered so i hit him again and he was down ... then i said give me my box and he wouldn't so i kicked him in the ribs. well when i did my foot hit a rock so it jammed my toe really bad but i got my scriptures back!!!

...hahahaha that was a pretty good made up story huh??? well this week was pretty good

besides the fact that i have an ingrown toenail that i have had for a week and then on thursday i woke up with a swollen lip. didnt think anything of it.  i just told people poulsen hit me in his sleep. then on friday i woke up at about 1:30 am and it was the size of texas. i guess i had an allergic reaction to something but i dont know what from.. so i iced it all through super planning and by the time it was time to go it had went down most of the way so thats good. Thursday we had zone leader council which is one of the best parts of being a zone leader mainly because we get to talk about all the missionaries and plus learn from president hendricks also so its awesome! we also got transfer calls for this coming week me and poulsen are staying together again woohoo that made me happy. our whole zone is pretty much staying the same besides the office. it is getting a new office elder and thats the only change! ummm lets see here what else... we have got a lot of really good investigators right now seems like a lot of them are pretty well rooted in if the would just come to church.. we have blossum who wasnt able to come to church yesterday darn it and we also are teaching a members wife who is way cool we have seen her twice this week and both times have been awesome she lives way out by the airport which is quite a drive from where we live but she is worth it! then we have a girl name shamala she is 13 her aunt and uncle are members and she spends most weekends with them she was begging us to just baptize her but we told her we have to teach you everything first and her mom was happy when she heard that and then we just have some others that are doing good also! we have been ridin dirty in our truck lol our registration is expired our fitness test is expired and we are missing a tail light and a blinker we are supposed to be getting new trucks tomorrow so they didnt want to renew everything for that reason. so we have been dodging all the cops lol but thats about all that i can remember from the week! it sure has been good and everything is going good here in Kingston!!!
