"is this an ol folks home?"

Well the week!!

This week has been good. We had a baptism on Saturday night!! 

Blossum Finally got baptized it was really awesome to see that. She has got a huge testimony thats for sure! Elder Flake(the senior couple) confirmed her and it was an amazing blessing! 

We also had Kardea come to church! That was awesome she is the one that Elder Poulsen had no Faith in and then  we go and see her and everything changed but she is really busy with school and work so its tough to see her through the week but something keeps saying don't give up on her so im not! then Adonna sent her kids to church alone 14,9 and a 6 year old i have no clue why she didnt come i was bummed out!  And then Patrice she is the lady that Trent Garner used to teach she keeps ignoring us or thats what i think anyhow i hope not but we stop by and call and nothing so that sucks. We are also teaching Kerry-ann she is doing awesome she is just scared its like she wants to follow her answer and keep learning but at the same time she is worried that she will have to change and not do the things she used to do so she is kinda stuck. those are our main investigators! The other night we got blown out so we walked around in an area called Havendale. 

Well it was late about 8:30 and we were just yelling at gates lol we got some pretty crazy responses one was an old folks home we ring the bell and the gate opens and then it just clicks this looks like an ol folks home and we just talked to a bunch of nurses that just got off work.. so we stand there awkwardly then a lady comes out of the house door i say ummm is this an ol folks home? lol Elder Brockbank starts laughing she was all yes! oh well we are missionaries Sir you will have to come back everyone is asleep. then the next gate Hi were missionaries! MISSIONARIES? at this time are you crazy oh boy Tromping through the house yelling and cussing then slams the door lol it just not the best time to find people are afraid to come out at night. Tuesday i went to the doctors i have an ingrown toenail that is bad bad so i have been on antibiotics for the week and then tomorrow i go and get it cut out so that sucks. you got me freaking out about this dang toenail dang.... i ve talked to other missionaries that have gotten theres cut out and they say they use a scalpul lol freaking doctors i hate em  i have been walking around in flip flops all week lol kinda funny looking but doctors orders! But everything is going good! transfers are this Wednesday! crazy huh November  is over dang that went quick. but thats about all that i can remember for now! have a good week I love you all! Well lets see here....

What happened this week.... 

Well by the end result of it which is. did anyone come to church this week?? NO!! 

So that was a bummer and church was really good this week. But lets see here we have a couple good investigators.. Blossum is doing awesome she is scheduled to be baptized this saturday so that is awesome! We have been teaching her for a long time but she has such a strong testimony of the gospel it awesome!!!  We have a couple others that are doing as well so thats awesome! We went to a church on saturday just to visit it was a Seventh day church. a lady invited us. so i said well if we come to yours will you visit ours? she said yes so we kept our promise. dang it was just like Larry the Cable guy says Stand up sing sit down pray stand up sit down!! I wanted to start yelling lean to the left lean to the right stand up sit down FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT it was a work out for sure!! Then they said we have 2 Elders from the Mormon church with us today will you stand up please. so we stood up i thought it was going to be like the Ron White experience that he had at church! (Ask Kyle about that) but it was pretty good i learned that God is merciful and the righteous will be saved. only took about 2 hours to get that across to everyone! Oh yes and Praises be to Jesus! anyhow that was an experience. Oh and that lady never kept her promise. called her up and she said.oh i have to work at my shop im to busy to come... ummm do you not think we were busy when we came to your church??? people just dont stand by there word.. Well then this Sunday night we were looking for a less- active lady so we get to the gate and a young kid comes out and i say is Carlene here?

 yes she is around back. so we go around back and i asked are you Carlene?

 No thats my sister oh well whats your name?

 Kelly oh well where is Carlene? 

i dunno thats her business..

 Well then i asked how old are you? 

19 

oh well how old is your sister? 

17

October 8th! 

no way thats my sisters birthday and you remind me of her because you both like to pull peoples legs a lot...

 She said ok what does that have to do with anything? 

well you see Carlene the church keeps records. And i think your Carlene because it says here that carlenes birthday is the 8th of october and you just said your birthday was the 8th of october so is that true????

she was trying to hide lol but we had a good lesson with her it was a tough one though she said all missionaries were the same they just go on missions because they have to... I gave all i had but it didnt work it made me just feel bad for her because she was just so negative about everything. but anyhow that was a funny story! then to end it off this last Monday we were at Michi's doing our shopping and a lady was handing the carts out and she asked if i wanted one i said yes then i said thats the one i really want. pointing to the scooter with the cart on it for the old folks and she said go ahead take it! So Elder Nelson and I took them haha it was hilarious. we had a blast on them!! But anyhow everything is going good Transfers are coming up not this week but next week crazy huh! im on my 11th one just 6 left after this one is over! elder randle was over 2 weeks ago and he got to looking at my calander and he said you kow it seems a lot longer when its on paper lol

"this week has been very trying"

Well another week 

it has been pretty good. Sent Elder Poulsen off on Tuesday and then i spent the day with Elder Mackay until Elder Brockbank and Randle came in they got in late tuesday night. it was cool to talk about Cayman with Elder Randle. then Wednesday morning Elder Mackay and Randle headed back to Ochie. this week has been very trying seems like everyone we were teaching started to be flaky so we would go to see them and they wouldnt be home so we walked around a ton this week just talking with everyone that we seen. We were walking around and we ran into a crazy guy who would mumble a few words and then you could catch like one word he would say then he would mumble again. and then catch 2 words kinda like the guy on king of the hill.... Anyways all that i caught from him was that Cable and wireless came right through here and something about down that way is where Jesse James is or maybe cable and wireless came through here with Jesse James hot on its heels thats probably what it was... who knows i dont speak Spanish lol. Then on Sunday after church we went and saw our investigator. We went over the baptism questions with her WOW we asked if she believed Joseph Smith was a true Prophet she Said yes then we asked here what that meant and she bore her testimony of it and it was awesome! she is so awesome. just having some financial problems so we left her with 2 baptism dates to pray over the 27th of nov. or the 4th of dec. so we will find out tuesday.  But everything is going good other wise Elder Brockbank is a good missionary. Knows his stuff thats for sure. total city slicker though. he is from murray utah lol. but not much really happened this week like i said just some finding and more finding. any how have a good week!!!

Well what a crazy week it has been! been pretty slow for teaching wise but other than that everything was good. We had 1 full day of teaching this week every other day was either sitting at the doctors office with Elder Nelson or at district meeting or at ZLC and the super planning so Saturday was our only full day of teaching. so lets get started on the week eh? Well Tuesday was the day we were at the doctors office we got a call from Elder Nelson asking if we could take him to get his wrist looked at well we went and tried to see the people that we had planned on seeing but no one was home so we went and got them took them to the doctor then the rest of the day was just pretty much normal. We are teaching a lady and her Family i think i talked about them last week ..? Well we saw them she is awesome thats for sure. Some people that live in her lane give her a hard time for meeting with us but she just blows them off and says i will find out for myself if it is true so thats awesome most people will just believe anything they hear and then there is just another person to add to the list of rumor starters. But not her... so thats awesome! Wednesday now we had district meeting. Thursday we had ZLC which is always awesome i learned a bunch from it it is awesome to be a zone leader and to be able to be in that council!

After zlc we went to see one of our investigators. we seen her on the road talked to her for a bit then she went into her yard. i keep hearing bad things about the church and then said i cant meet with you today. her family wont let her have any part with meeting with us. Then friday we had our super planning and then we headed up to Yallahs to do 2 baptism interviews for them. we Split up i went with Elder Weldon and went and taught and then went and did one interview and Elder Poulsen went and did the other one with Elder Deihl. Both went good and they were both baptized saturday so thats awesome! so that took up most of our day Friday. Then on Saturday we had our baptism interview with Sandra. Elder dale and I went up and he interviewed her and She was ready as well so we had her Baptism yesterday morning. It was awesome she asked me to Baptize her so that was really cool! 

she is going to be a good edition to the branch here. Kardea also came to church! so that was awesome but everything has been going good for us. been a crazy week full of meetings and other stuff it was a good week! Elder Poulsen leaves for the Bahamas tomorrow his paper work finally went through so he is set to leave. pretty sad to see him go he has been a good companion. but he is needed somewhere else. But that was my week :)

MUCHO TRABAJO Y NO DINARO

(much work and no money) 

Well this week has been really good. We have been workin really hard at trying to find new people to teach. We have been walking around and just talking with everyone. Last week i went through some former investigator records and found a lady that had been taught 3 years ago. her name is Patrice. she is a really nice lady. she said she was going to be baptized then but had surgery and that put a halt to it all. but she said that she is more than ready now so thats pretty cool. She had been taught by Trent Garner pretty crazy huh she was all he was such a nice kid always wanting to help me out. when i told her he just lived down the road from me she was all. what a small world lol so that was pretty cool.  We are also teaching a lady we met  last week sometime and she has been really interested she said that she had a friend tell her to stop meeting with us cuz we believe that the devil is Jesus Christ she said i told that lady that i am gonna find out if these things are true for myself so that was awesome. I have no clue where people get their rumors about the church its ridiculous! but she is a really nice lady she has 3 kids and we have been teaching them as well. One day after teaching her we were walking back to the truck and we hear hey Mormons. come back here. and then just a bunch of yelling ahhhh hey come here ahhh lol it was like what the crap is going on. well there was 2 guys in a bar they were pretty white but not really it was weird they defiantly were not Jamaicans thats for sure. so we go in the bar and we are talking to them. the one guy seemed to know alot about the church and about missionaries the other one was soo drunk he could barely sit in his chair he just kept sayin come here i wanna tell ya something. so he would pause then say come here i wanna tell you something.... on and on lol well i sat by the guy who wasn't so wasted and then the other guy pointed at me and said come here i wanna tell you something. i was all i can hear ya just fine from here so finally i got up went over to him and he was all i would like to pray for you would that be ok? we said sure. i was just thinking ok this is going to be nuts. but honestly it was a pretty good prayer. then when he finished the other guy was like dang that was a good one straight from the heart. i felt that lol. then he whispered im an undercover cop but shhhh dont tell anyone. so i dont know if thats true or not but thats what he said.. lol so that was pretty crazy! We had to move on of our baptism dates back another week she had a concern about Joseph Smith but she resolved her concern herself so that was cool and she is now gonna be baptized This coming Sunday so thats awesome. we had a really good day at church though. We had 2 kids just randomly show up and they had tons of questions from the Gospel Principles class it was about the Plan of Salvation really nice guys though. Blossum showed up so that was awesome and Adonna was there as well. also on saturday morning we went and helped the Elder Quorum chop some bush it was pretty fun used machetes and chopped it down. i got a big ol blister on my hand dang it. Skinny was right when he said you'll come back and your hands will be all soft. lol i feel like an office worker lol.   But this week was good for sure everything is going good Elder Poulsen is still here Paper work still not done so who knows how long he will be here. i always joke and say your just gonna be here another Transfer lol but anyhow thats about all that i can remember from the week as of right now!!! oh yes i got my Halloween package on friday that was fast huh! i had a bunch of halloween pictures for today but i went and left my camera at home dang it! but any how I love you all!!! Love Stetson 

"it was a very trying week but i'm lookin on the bright side"

Well lets see here....... This week was pretty good but it had ups and downs for sure. one of the downs was sitting at church with no investigators there. i was dang why isnt anyone here. They tell us they are gonna come and then they just dont show up. They let little things get in their way. We had a lot of appointments fall through throughout the week so it was a very trying week but i'm lookin on the bright side. i know there must be something i need to learn from this week. But for the "ups" we still have a date for this coming weekend so everything is set for that. so thats always exciting. . We had to move one of our baptism dates back a bit she is just going through a tough time so we are going to let her get on her feet before we baptize her. Well im not sure if i have told you about K?...ring a bell??? anyhow we met her about 4 weeks ago or so. well she was the only one out of like 4 other people that seemed somewhat interested so she gave us her phone number and we tried to see her a couple times but she was just really busy with school. Well Elder Poulsen had been like just forget about her lol but something told me no dont give up. so last sunday we got to see her and we just talked a little and then we left. well Yesterday we went back and we had no clue really what to do or what to teach her so we just started by getting to know her better and then it was like a totally different person. it was awesome. she had read the pamphlet and understood it perfectly she is defiantly coming around. as we walked away Elder Poulsen was like i take back everything bad i have ever said about her lol it was pretty cool!! we had a a pretty crazy night saturday night at about 4:30 am i woke up and it was really quiet in the house i was like what the crap its never this quiet. well it took me about 15 or so mins to put it all together. well the power was out duh lol no fans or light from outside coming in. THEN i hear gunshots. ok thats cool. then a little later 6 more all from different areas it was insane. Elder Poulsen and i were just like hmmmm some one is just hammering really loud thats all lol the power stayed off for the rest of the morning but it sure was a crazy night for sure i have no clue where the shots came from but they were off in the distance. so that was the craziness for the week thats for sure! but anyhow im still with Elder Poulsen his paper work hasn't gone through as yet so who knows how much longer i will be with him lol but everything is going good!! any ways that was my week in a nutshell! i love you all love Stetson

Well here it is another week already can ya believe it? shoot i can't hardly. i was a couple days behind this week so it made it feel as if it flew by. pretty crazy. but this week was good for sure!!! Yes. this Wednesday is Transfer day. but i wont be getting a new companion as of yet. Elder Poulsen is going to Nassau Bahamas but his paper work isnt quite finished so they cant send him out there as of yet. so i will have him for another week or so. then once that goes through. elder Brockbank who is in Nassau right now will come here with me. so thats who my new companion is going to be. i dont know a thing about him he was in nassau when i was in cayman. so we would see each other on skype and all but thats about all i know of him lol. But anyhow so thats transfers. now for the week. the week was pretty good. we kinda had a slump week though. seemed like nothing would go right. we had a zone conference this week which was awesome on thursday it was really good. we still have 2 people with dates for the last sunday in october whatever that day is. it just slipped my mind. and they are doing great. its a bummer cuz we can only see them once or twice a week because of their work schedule and stuff. and then we just have a few other people that we are teaching that really arent doing anything. so its been kinda rough we definately need to find some new people to teach thats for sure. but everything is going good other wise! im sad to see Elder Poulsen leave though he has been a good companion thats for sure. last night we got home and we planned and all that and then he jumped in the shower. well it seemed as if he was in there for like 2 minutes so i said dang that was quick. he said ya just wanted to leave you with some time. you know just trying to be Christlike.  i said you know i knew you would learn something from me haha. i said i have been tellin ya this whole time that you are bound to learn something from me hahaha it was pretty funny! friday night i believe it was. i woke up at like 2:30 having to go to the bathroom real bad so i went in the bathroom and there was a roach in there. so i was holding it in waiting for this huge roach to leave or move out of the way. well i took care of business then i tried to kill it. lol my aim must be off at that time in the morning cuz i couldnt hit it to save my life. it was flying. YES THEY CAN FLY. lol and i was trying to be quiet so i didnt wake Poulsen up. lol it was hilarious i never got him though came close several times. lol then i couldnt go back to sleep. i kept thinking it was gonna fly in and land on my bed. then it started pouring rain and it was like a drum on the tin roof and then it ended up raining all saturday. i got soaked from head to foot while Poulsen was nice and dry under his rain jacket lol i said come on take it off companionship bonding time man lo.l but he wouldnt. lol anyhow everything is going great so no complaints! well have a wonderful week i love you all!!!! "Just a normal missionary week"

Well the week...........i dont really know what happenend this week lol. Just a normal missionary week i guess! we had some pretty cool experiences getting a baptism date. we pretty much left it to her. we said you pray about it and see how you feel. well we went there on saturday. we can only see her on saturday and sunday nights. but we asked her about it and she said October 30 was the day she wanted to be baptized so that was awesome!!! We have another one with that same date. so as of right now we will have 2 baptisms by the end of the month!  We have been trying to find new people. some times its pretty stressful. i ask my self several times daily is there anyone who wants  to find the truth??? its kinda hectic but we keep pushing along and we have found a couple this week that seem to be pretty interested. so we will see. This sunday was fast sunday there was tons of great testimonies givin. i sat there the longest time debating on whether or not to get up. then i remembered how  i felt the last fast sunday when i didnt get up so i went up at 15 past 1 and i was the very last one up and im so glad that i got up! i must of got dads cryin genes cuz i was about to that point. but i atleast held mine in! lol shoot this is short but i dont remember anything else.... thats horrible. anyways The weather here has just been really rainy and then hot, rainy then hot its either one or the other. we got soaked the other day. we walked from one appointment to the next and it came down withing a couple minutes. i was soaked clear through. thats the worst! well sorry this aint much. but everything is going good!!! Transfers are next week wednesday so im gonna be gettin someone new i think anyhow have a good week!!!

by the way i made 2 carmel apples the other day and have made a couple of the chilli cheese wraps. they hit the spot thats for sure. that chilli was so good. cant get anything like that out here.
