"Fork.. Flip... Fork.. Flip... never knew that part of the chicken could fly."

How on earth  is it Monday again???

Man the time is just flying by. Seems like this week went super fast. This week i went on a trade-off with the other Elder Montgomery in Maypen. It was pretty good we rode our bikes a Loooonnnng way going down was a breeze but coming back to maypen we had the wind blowing in our face and it was miserable pedal 10 feet forward and the wind would blow you back 9 feet it was rough i dont know how we did it. But it was really good because we got fed a rally good dinner.... Curried Chicken foot and chicken neck just to top off the day! Ha i just know that dog that was there sure wasn't complaining... Fork.. Flip... Fork.. Flip... never knew that part of the chicken could fly. But it was a good day.
(The church in old harbour)

Things here in Old harbour are going good.We are having a lot of success with a few of our investigators. Christina is doing awesome she has been at church the past 3 Sundays and we have been having really good lessons with her. She just really wants to learn and when your teaching someone like that it just makes teaching way better! But she is doing great. We are also teaching Sister Follett she is defiantly making progress but i don't know if its fast enough to make her baptism date but i hope so.
(this lttle boy stayed like this the whole lesson so i had to take a pic of him afterwards)
It has been really hot here lately Summa time is here you know well not quite but pretty close. Sometimes i look back and just say how on earth did we survive today with all that walking. But all is going great i have a great trainee and the area is doing good as well so things are great!!

"Cant believe time is winding down...where has the time gone??"

 Elder Stuart and I
Well this week has been awesome!! We have been walking every where and its been a lot of that indeed but we have been finding more people that way! We have been busy and things are a lot better from the last transfer.
We have several investigators that are coming along great. 5 investigators were at church this week and it was just an awesome feeling because we have been working our tails off and it paid off. An investigator named Christina is awesome.. she had been taught before but was always busy with school so it was hard to see her but now its summer break we have been seeing her more and she is doing awesome. Just one of those people you teach that you just cant wait for the next time you see them. She has been reading and praying and has come to church the last 2 Sundays. She is making huge progress!! In the middle of the lesson it will just go quiet and you look at her and she has her eyes closed and you can just tell she is in deep thinking and then she just opens her eyes and is all yep ok! We ask her to pray about what we have taught and she says already did! Its been awesome teaching her!! Sister Follett is coming along good as well we have been working with her for the past couple weeks she came to church on Sunday so that was awesome. But things are going really good here loving every moment of it!

Jeromy and Atanya they are 2 of the awesomest members here in old harbour
Cant believe time is winding down.. I look at the calendar and im just like no way.. where has the time gone?? Pretty crazy. Elder Randle calls me this morning with the flight plans and i was ticked... He leaves on a different flight than us. he leaves the same day just at 630 and i leave at 830...  i was devastated so we are seein what we can do to see if we cant get on the same flight out of Jamaica!  But anyhow enough about that business... But im lovin it!! Its been getting really hot! True its almost summa time ha its also hurricane season so probably going to be getting lots of rain soon.
But anyhow everything is going good!!
I love you all

"...things are going good just workin our tails off"

Im on the left, then Elder Conder, Elder Paxman, Elder Ngubane, Elder Snelson and Elder Engebrect

The weeek...
Well this week has been really good! Been really busy walking up and down. Yes were walking now! we were waiting on Elder Stuart to get a bike and then the first day we got it we took it out and we ended up having to push it back through town so we just have been walking and it has been pretty good we have found a lot more people to teach by walking. But everything is going good. Im trying to think of what to email home about and i cant think of anything..  I think im running out of things to write home about.. But all i know is that everything is going good! Its good to have a companion that i can relate to and we can talk about stuff that we both like to do so that makes like good! It has been super hot lately! Got a haircut last monday and i told the barber what i wanted and he started off good then just went over the top with like a 2 guard just trimmed me down close my head has got blisters on it from the sun! so that was the downer about the week.
But like i said things are going good just workin our tails off.
We have got a few people that we are working with that are doing good we have just been strugglin with people coming to church.. I dont understand really.. If someone came to you and said the FULLNESS of the Gospel has been restored would that not trigger something that says hey i need to go and see this for myself??? I dunno i think it would but thats just me. So we have been strugglin in that part but we have made some progress we had 2 Investigators at church Sunday that really enjoyed it so ya things are coming alive a little! But anyhow things are good!!
I love you all!!

Well i got my new companion! Elder Stuart from Woodruff Utah. Really cool guy. He comes from a ranch so thats all i could ever ask for. But ya everything is good besides the fact that he is like 6'3 towers over me but everything is good! i was super nervous on Tuesday night and Elder Randle texted me and said rancher and hunter or tong-an? haha well i ended up with the rancher so im happy! It has been a learning experience already i keep trying to put myself in his shoes and say ok how was it for me but i have no clue i cant remember that far back but he is picking up on teaching and still strugglin with the language. but hey i still do sometimes. But i am super excited for the next 2 transfers it is going to be fun!

We have had some cool experiences already... we were teaching Lorretta and a girl comes over and sits down and Lorretta was all listen to these guys they will teach you some good stuff she was super excited to learn more and just totally prepared so that was cool! but i cant really think of anything else that has happened thats bad but just know all is well and im lovin it!!

Well i love you all

"...Sweat drippin off of me Sittin... on my 5 gallon bucket"

El Montgomery and El Barker SKYPING on Mother's Day :)
Well here i am again Sweat drippin off of me Sittin... on my 5 gallon bucket again! shoot its hot in here!
Welcome to Jamaica ha!
Well This week has been pretty good. just working our tails off trying to find some people to teach. And thats about all for the week. I went on a trade off with elder Mccready in Spanish town on Friday and Saturday that was a lot of fun. We also got transfer calls on Saturday... Elder Barker is going to Portmore and i will be training so i have no clue who it will be but i will meet him on Wednesday. Im pretty nervous to train really but it will be a good experience so im looking forward to it. It was also really good to be able to talk with the Family on mothers day crazy how big Brehts kids are gettin...crazy. Oh thank goodness a FAN they just brought out a fan woohooo haha she must of seen me drippin sweat ha. but i dont really know what else to say besides things are going good. We had a fireside after church which was directed to getting the branch more involved in missionary work. it was good we had a round robin type thing where we all went around and asked each person questions trying to help everyone get to know each other better. then we had quotes from all the prophets about missionary work and how the members and the missionaries should work together But it turned out pretty good. we lost some members during it due to the fact that it looked like it was going to rain so they high tailed it outta there. but any how everything is going good!
Thanks for everything!! love you all!

"Were just in a hole and we have to dig ourselves out."

This Old Highway is getting longer....
Seems there ain't no end in site....
To sleep would be best..
But we just cant afford to rest...
We gotta Teach the Gospel again tonight....

Well boy howdy! Things are going ok... we have had a rough past couple of weeks. Just cant seem to have anything go right for us. And its defiantly no fun. But all i know is that we just have to keep working hard and it will start happenin! But explaining that  to a new guy can be kinda hard. But i know thats what we have to do! Our district was having real tough time of finding people and getting them to church and so forth.. So i was sitting there planning on what to teach for district meeting and i was looking in some past notes and stuff and i saw Commitment Pattern in big letters and i was like DUH DUH DUH! thats what we need and so thats what i taught and i felt that it was good for the 2 new Missionaries and a good Reminder for the other Elder Montgomery and I... Yes there is two of us. I felt that the rest of the week was a lot better after that and we just kept applying it over and over and it was really looking good for having people at church and so forth. We did have one show up which was really cool but i have no idea what happened to the other 4 or 5. So its been kinda tough with that just happening over and over. The people that we are teaching have tons of potential but they just aren't acting... i just keep hearing from members that this is a hard missionary area.. But i dunno i just know we have to keep at it and it will be good. Were just in a hole and we have to dig ourselves out.
But i was able to go on a trade off with Elder Montgomery ha that was fun... Whats your name Elder Montgomery.. oh well whats your name? Elder Montgomery... Weird look on face... wait are you brothers? ha it was fun and we had some good teaching appointment over there in May-pen so that was really good! But it has been raining like crazy True the rainy season haha about everyday it rains and not just a sprinkle i mean RAIN. But all is good crazy that is almost transfers again this went way fast and mothers day is Sunday so my last call home super stoked about that!!
Anyhow i love you all!!!

"i just gotta keep on keepin' on!"

Well another week gone!

Things are going alright here in Old Harbour. We had a Zone conference this week so that was cool getting together with all the missionaries. Elder Randle being the Assistant now he teaches at those i wish i woulda had some hillbilly teeth so i could pull all sorts of faces at him. The meeting was really good we talked about Growth and Real growth.. and the differences between them. We want real growth and so that was the focus of the meeting on how we can get some real growth going here in Jamaica we have had to much growth and not enough real growth.. So we just need people that are going to live the gospel in other words. It made me remember when i was serving with Trenten Dale formerly Elder Dale but he said you know from now on i only want to baptize those that are going to stay around not just hang around for a month of so but that are truly converted and in it for the long haul. And that has stuck with me ever since he said that. And while we were together we had 2 that are defiantly in it for the long haul. And ever since then i have felt good about all the ones i have helped to come into the church. But man the ones we are working with here in Old Harbour are tough. dang it has been some of the toughest weeks of my mission. And this past week was one of the toughest it just seems like nothing can go right. Our teaching pool has shrunk and we are trying to build it up but its just not seeming to work. must be one of those testing times! Just have to push through it and the good things will come out of it! Actually i was sittin there Saturday night right before bed looking at some scriptures and just trying to find something that i was looking for but i looked in the bible at some but i just wasn't finding anything and then Boom right in my lap!  Alma 17:11

And the Lord said unto them also: Go forth among the Lamanites, thy brethren, and establish my word; yet ye shall be patient in long-suffering and afflictions,
that ye may show forth good examples unto them in me, and I will make an instrument of
thee in my hands unto the salvation of many souls.

AMEN was all i could say to that haha
I got to thinking ya know thats exactly what i have to do. I just have to be patient through it all! And then i always think of Elder Hollands Mormon Message "Good things to come" Where he says in it you keep going, You keep walking... i dont really remember all that he says but you can look it up and watch it! And also that quote kept coming back to me about how on a smooth trail you may get there faster but a rough path teaches you more... So i know there is something i gotta learn from this. So anyhow though it was a tough week i know that i just gotta keep on keepin' on! Well its crazy to think that my time is drawing to an end soon but im just gonna keep on keepin' on! Well i love you all have a wonderful week!

"dang im one of the oldest missionaries out here"

Well Here we are again! Not on the 5 gallon bucket this week! we are in Spanish Town. We went and played basketball in Portmore today. it was really Hot but fun. I swear it never rains there. but got to see a lot of new faces and some old faces as well. Pretty crazy to look around and say dang im one of the oldest missionaries out here... (for time remaining that is) CRAZY. It was good to get back in Elder Randles face a little on the court ha he got me a good shoulder to the chops though. But it was a ton of fun!
This week has been really good. We had a good Zone Meeting on Wednesday i had to teach part of it being the district leader but over all it was really good. we have some good zone leaders Elder Mccready and Elder Engebrect.. Just solid missionaries. After our meeting we got back to Old Harbour at about 3 and we had an appointment so we just walked to the rest of them that night. and no im no longer a zone leader granny im just a normal missionary now so no more truck.
Well then a huge storm blew in and it was pouring rain and we stayed under some shelter talking to a member for a while but we had to get home so we got soaked. Elder Barker had a rain coat on. But i got soaked head to foot! True its the rainy season so its hot then it rains! Sunday its was dumping out rain same way but we got lucky and headed out and didnt get wet. but i was sitting at the sacrament table and i look out the window and its just coming down and i see Atanya and Richardo walking in the rain! They are recent converts but they are solid i was just like dang that is dedication!
Alma 48:17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.
well i read that and the put Atanya and richardos name in for Moroni and thats the dang truth they are so awesome!! But everything is going good! ha  i ran out of things to say but all is well!
 So i love you all!!!

well i know its not much this week but its been a good week. just nothing really to write home about... you could add to my email for the week about the zone meeting that i taught at that i was laying in my bed tuesday night at 10:30 still trying to think of what to talk on and stuff just came like crazy and i had to jump outta bed and write it all down then we said our prayer and i just stayed there and more and more just kept coming it was really cool.

"week 2 in Old Harbour and i gotta say im takin a likin to it...its treatin me good so far!"

"back on the ol steel horse"

Heeeelllllllloooooo La la la! haha name that show.... Elder Randle would know...
Well here i am in a little border town internet cafe sittin on what seems like a 5 gallon bucket sweatin and crowded like a bunch.. a bunch of... well you can finish that if ya want...
Well week 2 in Old Harbour and i gotta say im takin a likin to it. The area is really nice its flat so it makes ridin the bike easy. The members are awesome so its treatin me good so far!
Well Lets see here lets start with the serious business first and then we will have the funny story at the end!!
It was a good one!!
We have had a lot of success this week The week started off really well we were busy and runnin around like crazy so that made the time fly by! We have a couple investigators that are doing really well. Sanjay is a members friend and he is coming along great you can tell that he has a huge desire to be baptized and do whats right. We met a girl Monday night near to our house and she was saying how she used to run and hide when she would see the missionaries coming but she said i really want to know what your all about. We had a lesson with her and she was just soakin it all in and the we gave her a book of mormon and she was like yes i have been wanting to read this. So i have a lot of hope for her. We are working with a couple others that are doing well as well. Im the district leader so i have to teach the District Meeting every week in May pen to the other Elder Montgomery and Elder Adamson. But ya for missionary work things are going really going good!
Now for the funny story... So it was Wednesday night and we had a dinner appointment at Sister Irvings house. Well we got there and she was running a little behind so we rode over to the tire shop to air up Elder Barkers tire. on the way back to her house we got a call.. Elder Barker answered and said Sister Grant wants us to come and give her kid a blessing he is sick.... Ok well she lives across town can it wait or do we have time to run over before dinner? He said well lets go So we flew down to her house on the way Elder Barkers tire went flat right as we pull up so we go to the door. He says which one is sick? She has triplets.. She looked confused and right away i was like oh great... she said what? He said which one needs the blessing? NO not blessing...
The repellent that you promised i asked if you would be by the area to drop off the repellent...
Him Nah unda stand wuh she a say a true di patuah... and once again they say this is an English speaking mission?? hahaha He will soon pick up on it! haha so he had to push his bike all the way back to town i was riding behind him just laughing i thought it was funny..  But any how that was really funny!
Anyhow things are good I love you all!!
